become a member

When you become a member of the North Arran Community Benefit Society, you’re doing more than signing a form - you’re standing up for the future of our community.

Membership means your voice matters. You have voting rights on the big decisions that shape our shared assets and services. You can put yourself forward to join the Board. You can help guide what comes next.

But perhaps most importantly, you become part of something powerful - a group of local people choosing to protect what matters. Our buildings. Our gathering places. Our services. Our sense of belonging.

Every membership strengthens community ownership and keeps local assets in local hands - not just for today but for the generations who will call North Arran home in years to come.

This is about pride, participation and protecting our community - together.

annual GENERAL MEETING

Every year, the North Arran Community Benefit Society (NACBS) holds it Annual General Meeting (AGM), bringing together members, directors and the wider community to reflect on the year just gone and look ahead to what’s next. The AGM is an important part of being a community-owned organisation - it’s where members exercise their democratic rights, receive updates on financial performance and projects, review the Society’s accounts and elect or re-elect board directors.

More than a formal requirement, the AGM is a moment of shared accountability and transparency. It ensures that decisions remain in the hands of the community, that progress is openly reported and that members have the opportunity to ask questions, shape priorities and help steer the future direction of the NACBS. In short, it’s where ownership becomes active participation - and where our collective voice guides the path forward.
